Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor is set to return to the Crimson Tide after a short stint with Iowa, according to reports. Proctor, who played as the starter on the left side for Alabama last season, entered the transfer portal after the 2023 season concluded to join his home state’s Hawkeyes.

After announcing his plans to re-enter the portal on Tuesday with the intention to come back to Alabama, former Alabama right tackle JC Latham confirmed the news during the Tide’s pro day for the NFL Draft.

Latham emphasized Alabama’s status as the standard in college football, suggesting that the allure of other programs doesn’t always match the reality. He expressed that Proctor will soon realize that “it’s Alabama for spring practice.”

Proctor began as a true freshman starter at Alabama last season, facing initial challenges but demonstrating significant improvement as the season progressed. He received freshman all-SEC honors from the conference’s coaches before initially leaving for Iowa.

Latham mentioned that he hadn’t discussed Proctor’s decision extensively but noted their occasional casual interactions on social media.

Regarding Proctor’s growth as a player during his time at Alabama, Latham praised his remarkable improvement, highlighting the progress made from the beginning to the end of the season.

Proctor is expected to re-enter the transfer portal on April 15 and will be eligible to play immediately upon his return to Alabama.
