Jimmy Garoppolo has embarked on a new phase in his football career by signing with the Los Angeles Rams. Previously with the Las Vegas Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers, where he competed against the Rams regularly, Garoppolo highlighted several factors that influenced his decision to join the Rams.
Having faced the Rams numerous times while playing for the 49ers, Garoppolo was well aware of the team’s strengths. He mentioned in a video shared by the Rams that their strong defense, potent offense capable of scoring points, and overall positive environment were key factors in his choice to sign with them.
Garoppolo’s stint with the Raiders last season saw him complete 110 out of 169 passes for 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions in seven games. Although he’s now 32 years old and not in his prime, his experience and skill make him a valuable addition to the Rams’ quarterback roster.
The Rams, who had a Super Bowl win a few seasons back, are aiming to build on their recent playoff appearance after a challenging previous season. Despite falling short in the playoffs against the Detroit Lions last season, they are focused on reclaiming their position among the top contenders in the league.
