Odell Beckham Jr. has confirmed his departure from the Ravens, as reported on March 18th, 2024, by Adam La Rose. Earlier indications had suggested that Beckham would be leaving the team in free agency after a one-year stint. Beckham himself announced this news via an Instagram post, expressing gratitude to the Ravens and regretting not being able to achieve more during his time with the team.

The Ravens had restructured Beckham’s contract, which was a one-year deal with $15 million guaranteed, before eventually releasing him with a post-June 1 designation, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano. This move had already hinted at Beckham’s short-lived stay in Baltimore. Now, the 31-year-old wide receiver will focus on exploring free agency once again.

Beckham had missed the entire 2022 season due to an ACL tear and his availability on the market last spring had been a significant storyline in the NFL. Despite this, he signed a more lucrative deal with the Ravens than many anticipated. During his time with the team in 2023, he showed glimpses of his high-end potential before suffering another injury. He played 14 games, recording 35 receptions for 565 yards and 3 touchdowns with an impressive 16.1 yards per catch average, the highest of his career.

With several top wide receiver options already off the market in the 2024 free agency class and a strong pool of draft prospects at the position, many veteran receivers like Beckham may remain unsigned for a while. The Ravens, with Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor on the roster, will likely seek depth in the pass-catching department, but Beckham will not be part of their plans for 2024.
