Luka Doncic to Sit Out Mavericks’ Game Against Thunder Due to Injury

The Dallas Mavericks have declared that their star player, Luka Doncic, will be absent from the upcoming matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Thursday’s NBA action due to a left hamstring injury.

This decision follows Doncic’s early departure from Wednesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, where the Mavericks secured a 109-99 victory, as he experienced discomfort in his left hamstring.

Doncic will remain sidelined as his team travels to Oklahoma for the second game of their back-to-back series. After facing the Thunder, the Mavericks have a scheduled break before they host the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

This injury setback ends Doncic’s remarkable streak of seven consecutive games with a triple-double, a streak that was interrupted when he contributed 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists before exiting the game with 6:46 remaining.

Before leaving the court, Doncic was observed applying heat to his left hamstring. His departure occurred shortly after executing an alley-oop pass to teammate Daniel Gafford, after which he displayed signs of discomfort upon landing. He promptly signaled his need to leave the game to coach Jason Kidd and headed to the locker room.

During his impressive stretch, Doncic set NBA records for the most consecutive triple-doubles with at least 35 points in five games and with at least 30 points in six games.
