Cavs: Following an incredible comeback, Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks offers a kind message to Cleveland. Is Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic the best player in the NBA right now?

Amidst the chaos at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, there was a significant homecoming and a sincere display of gratitude. Kyrie Irving reflected on his return to the city where he clinched an NBA championship following the exhilarating conclusion of Tuesday’s game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks.

Irving expressed his emotions postgame, describing the experience as “beautiful” and extending his appreciation not only to Cavs fans but to all of Ohio. Reflecting on the enduring significance of the 2016 victory, he acknowledged its place in history while acknowledging the possibility of someone surpassing it in the future.

Reconnecting with the nostalgia of “Believeland” seemed to motivate Irving as he faced the Cavs, delivering a standout performance with 30 points on 50 percent shooting from the field. However, his efforts were overshadowed by Max Strus’ remarkable late-game display, who drained five 3-pointers in less than four minutes, culminating in a buzzer-beating 59-foot shot for a 121-119 victory.

Despite Strus’ heroics, Irving remained appreciative of the history he helped create with the franchise. His stellar contributions during the unforgettable playoff run in 2016, including his pivotal shot in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, cement his legacy within Cleveland basketball history.
