AJ Brown stands up for Jalen Hurts as the Philadelphia Eagles standout addresses rumors. Are Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles still the NFC's best team ahead of 2023/24 NFL season? | NFL News | Sky Sports

AJ Brown has remained supportive of Jalen Hurts despite the Philadelphia Eagles’ challenging NFL season.

The Eagles faced difficulties in the NFL playoffs, suffering a 32-9 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the opening round. Despite starting the season strong with a 10-1 record, the Super Bowl LII champions experienced a dramatic decline, finishing at 11-6 before their campaign ended at the hands of the Bucs.

Despite the team’s struggles, Philadelphia’s wide receiver Brown refuted claims of discontent, asserting that he has a positive relationship with Hurts. He emphasized how well the quarterback performed earlier in the season before the team’s downturn.

“I believe that’s completely untrue, and I’m not going to address our relationship publicly,” Brown stated on 94.1 WIP. “It wasn’t an issue during my six-game streak. Nobody mentioned it then, but suddenly it’s a topic when we’re losing.”

Brown showcased exceptional form earlier in the season, setting an NFL record for consecutive games with at least 125 receiving yards, previously held by Pat Studstill (1966) and Calvin Johnson (2012). However, the team’s disappointing 1-6 finish to the season left a bitter aftertaste.

When questioned about Hurts’ personality amid rumors suggesting some Eagles personnel desire him to be more open, Brown emphasized that the 25-year-old should remain true to himself. He remarked, “Jalen is authentic. I neither agree nor disagree; he’s genuine, and I won’t attempt to portray him differently than he is. When things were going well, there were no such reports. The season had its highs and lows, but when we were winning, his demeanor on the sideline remained consistent.”
