In Henderson, Nevada (AP) – Antonio Pierce, gearing up for his inaugural season as the Las Vegas Raiders’ permanent head coach, is leaning on the expertise of two seasoned former head coaches for support.

The Raiders unveiled their complete coaching staff on Friday, with former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis assuming the role of assistant head coach, and ex-Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin appointed as the senior offensive assistant.

Lewis, renowned for steering the Bengals to seven playoff appearances, compiled a record of 131-122-3 during his tenure from 2003 to 2018. He played a pivotal advisory role when Pierce took over as interim coach midway through the previous season.

Philbin, who led the Dolphins with a record of 24-28 from 2012 to 2015 and briefly served as the Green Bay Packers’ interim coach in 2018, served as an offensive analyst at Ohio State last season. However, his extensive NFL experience primarily involves working alongside Mike McCarthy, serving as the offensive line coach in Green Bay and later with the Dallas Cowboys. Philbin also held the position of Packers offensive coordinator from 2007 to 2011.

Furthermore, Scott Turner retains his role as pass game coordinator after joining the Raiders last season following a three-year stint as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders.

Patrick Graham continues in his third season as defensive coordinator, although notable alterations have been made on the defensive front, despite Las Vegas ranking ninth in points allowed per game at 19.5.

Among the retained assistants are senior defensive assistant Rob Ryan, defensive line coach Rob Leonard, and assistant defensive backs coach Matt Feeney.
