Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs clinched an exhilarating triumph against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, demonstrating exceptional poise in high-pressure situations. A noteworthy aspect of the game centered around the overtime regulations.

Following the coin toss victory, the 49ers chose to have the initial possession. However, several of their players appeared unaware of the revised playoff rules implemented in 2022.

During his podcast, “New Heights,” co-hosted with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis commended Mike Frazier, the Chiefs’ statistical analysis coordinator, for diligently enlightening the team about overtime rules and strategic approaches throughout the playoffs.

“Mike Frazier is outstanding,” Kelce expressed. “He systematically outlines various scenarios, covering critical moments, end-of-half, end-of-game situations, and rule modifications. Whenever he addresses the team, there’s a unanimous chorus of ‘Fraaaaz!'”

Kelce further disclosed that Frazier systematically guided the team through diverse hypothetical situations to ensure thorough preparation.

“Every week during the playoffs, we extensively reviewed overtime rules,” Kelce explained. “Frazier was transparent, elucidating our approach to each scenario. Consequently, every member of the team was well-acquainted with our strategies and how to navigate potential challenges.”
