Oilers Move Dylan Holloway Up in the Opponents’ Lineup Shuffle

The Edmonton Oilers are set to face the St. Louis Blues on February 15, and they have opted for a revamped forward lineup. While the top line remains unchanged, Dylan Holloway is moving up to the second line, partnering with Evander Kane and Leon Draisaitl. Corey Perry is shifting to the third line, joining Warren Foegele and Ryan McLeod, and Sam Gagner is replaced by Mattias Janmark on the fourth line, alongside Derek Ryan and Connor Brown. The defensive pairings will stay consistent with the previous game.

Holloway, in his second season with the Oilers, has contributed three goals and one assist, totaling four points in 22 games. Despite facing injury challenges this season, he has made a solid defensive impact since returning to the Oilers’ lineup. During his time with the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League (AHL) this season, Holloway recorded two goals and two assists in four games.

Placing Holloway alongside two of the Oilers’ offensive powerhouses, Kane and Draisaitl, is a strategic move to potentially boost his production. Draisaitl has impressive stats with 25 goals and 37 assists, accumulating 62 points in 49 games, while Kane has scored 19 goals and provided 14 assists, amassing 33 points in 48 games.

Heading into the game against the Blues, the Oilers aim to build on a significant victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Following the end of their 16-game winning streak by the Vegas Golden Knights, they seek to regain consistent success, currently occupying the third spot in the Pacific Division with 63 points as they strive to climb closer to the top.
