Joe Milton III Recieves First-Ever Senior Bowl Selection.
Former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton III left a positive impression during his time away from the field at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Throughout his tenure as the starting quarterback for the University of Tennessee, Milton garnered admiration in Knoxville and beyond, despite facing national scrutiny. He played a crucial role in maintaining a positive atmosphere for the team during a challenging season following the highs of an 11-win campaign.
Milton, finishing with an 8-4 record as a starter, demonstrated resilience to keep the Vols on an upward trajectory. He achieved 2,813 passing yards and contributed to 27 touchdowns, with a minimal five interceptions in the 2023 season. His final college football season showcased significant improvement, earning him an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl. While his on-field performance during the week of practice was noteworthy, Milton also gained attention for his off-field character.
In honor of the late Bryan Ingebrand, a beloved member of the Senior Bowl family, the “Good Guy Award” was created to recognize a Senior Bowler known for being an outstanding individual behind the scenes. The inaugural winner of this award is Tennessee QB Joe Milton, acknowledged for his exemplary character. Reese’s Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy expressed appreciation for Milton’s positive qualities, noting that he would be a valuable addition to any NFL quarterback room.
Milton’s maturity and leadership, particularly in challenging situations, have been consistently praised by those around him. His recent invitation to the NFL Combine provides another opportunity for him to showcase his talents to professional scouts and decision-makers within the league.
