The Lady Vols want to recover on their two-game homestand.

Vols ranked ahead of Alabama in US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 2

Following a challenging 72-56 defeat on the road against Alabama in Tuscaloosa last Thursday night, the Lady Vols are making a return to the Food City Center for two upcoming home games against Arkansas and South Carolina.

With a current record of 14-8, including a 7-3 standing in the SEC, the Lady Vols have demonstrated success on their home turf, securing victories in their last six games at the Food City Center. Tennessee’s offense has displayed an upward trajectory, ranking as the third-highest scoring offense in the SEC and the 30th nationally, averaging 77.1 points per game.

On Monday, the Lady Vols will face Arkansas (17-8, 5-5 SEC), who are coming off a narrow road loss to Florida. In that game, Arkansas held a 10-point lead entering the fourth quarter but was unable to seal the win against the Gators. Freshman Talia Scott leads the Razorbacks with an average of 22.1 points per game, showcasing proficiency with 49 3-pointers this season. The Razorbacks heavily rely on the three-ball, with 47% of their total field goal attempts this season coming from beyond the arc. Effectively defending against the three-pointers will be crucial for the Lady Vols’ success against the Razorbacks.

In the previous encounter with Arkansas, the Lady Vols maintained a wire-to-wire lead, securing an 87-67 victory on the road at Bud Walton Arena in February of the last season. Rickea Jackson and Jordan Horston both recorded double-doubles in that game, with Jackson contributing a team-high 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Horston posting 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The last face-off between these two teams in Knoxville saw the Lady Vols overcoming a 13-point deficit to claim an 86-83 victory back in January 2022.

The upcoming matchup between the Lady Vols and the Razorbacks is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 12, at the Food City Center, with the tipoff slated for 7 p.m. EST on SEC Network.
