Malcolm Brogdon Explains What Caused Boston Celtics to Miss 2023 NBA Finals - Sports Illustrated Boston Celtics News, Analysis and More

In preparation for their Super Bowl Sunday matchup, the Celtics, who are 2-0 against the Heat this season, will make their way back to the Kaseya Center after winning 143-11

On Friday night at TD Garden, the Boston Celtics secured a 133-129 victory against the Washington Wizards. Despite their position at the top of the NBA standings with a record of 40-12, the team acknowledged not performing at their peak and attributed it to a lull approaching the All-Star break.

Recognizing the inevitability of fatigue and monotony during an 82-game regular season, the Celtics are actively working on honing their strategies to minimize the impact of such dips. With three more games before the All-Star break, their next challenge is a Super Bowl Sunday matchup against the Miami Heat. The Celtics boast a 2-0 record against the Heat, including a dominant 143-110 win just over two weeks ago at the Kaseya Center.

Despite acquiring Xavier Tillman and Jaden Springer during the trade deadline, neither player will make their debut in the upcoming Eastern Conference Finals rematch. Tillman is sidelined due to left knee soreness, and Springer is inactive because of a right ankle impingement. Tillman, who missed the Memphis Grizzlies’ last four games before joining the Celtics, mentioned that there is no specific timeline for his debut.

The game against Miami is scheduled to tip off at 2:00 p.m. EST on Sunday. Fans can follow @BobbyKrivitsky on Twitter for updates and analysis from pregame to post as covered by Inside The Celtics.
