WHO DAT SAINT: Coach has drop a message on leaving due to…

Jahri Evans’s Hall of Fame bid is unsuccessful.

Who Dat? Ranking Saints' Defensive Ends by Best-Ever Single Seasons - Talk Of Fame

Jahri Evans, the accomplished right guard, experienced a four-season journey with the New Orleans Saints before earning recognition as an All-Pro for the first time, marking the beginning of a remarkable streak with five consecutive All-Pro selections and six consecutive Pro Bowl appearances. Despite being a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the second consecutive year, Evans, a Saints Hall of Famer and a key figure in the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team, fell short in the voting for the Class of 2024.

Having been part of the Super Bowl XLIV-winning Saints and a member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, Evans, who played for the Saints from 2006 to 2016, stands as the second-most decorated offensive lineman in franchise history, trailing only the Hall of Fame tackle Willie Roaf. Evans achieved five All-Pro honors, securing first-team recognition in four consecutive years (2009-2012), and participated in the Pro Bowl six times.

Willie Roaf, another Saints Hall of Famer and a member of both the 1990s and 2000s All-Decade Teams, holds the title of the most decorated offensive lineman in franchise history. Roaf, a five-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler with the Saints, continued his success with Kansas City, earning additional accolades and securing a place in the Saints Ring of Honor.

Jahri Evans, selected as the fourth-round draft pick from Bloomsburg in 2006, demonstrated remarkable durability by starting every game of his 183-game career, including 14 games with Green Bay in 2017. Throughout his tenure with the Saints, he started all 16 regular-season games nine times in 11 seasons and played a crucial role in all 10 playoff games with New Orleans.

In recent years, Evans has transitioned to a coaching role within the Saints organization, serving as a training camp intern in 2022 and subsequently taking on a full-time position as an offensive assistant in 2023. Despite falling short of Hall of Fame induction this year, Jahri Evans continues to make valuable contributions to the football community both on and off the field.
