Throughout the season, the Cardinals have faced challenges on the defensive front, a trend evident in their recent games. Their most recent outing resulted in a heart-wrenching 92-94 loss to Syracuse, following a 101-92 triumph over Florida State that ended a six-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech, in the inaugural year under head coach Damon Stoudamire, experienced contrasting fortunes. The Yellow Jackets started the 2023-24 season strongly at 8-3, with notable victories against Duke and Mississippi State. However, they have since struggled, losing 10 of their last 12 games, including an 80-51 defeat at home against Wake Forest in their latest match. Louisville and Georgia Tech will meet for the 42nd time, with the Cardinals holding a 26-15 lead in the series. While the Yellow Jackets secured an 83-67 win in their last encounter on Feb. 22, 2023, they were only one of two ACC victories for UofL last season, the other being a 68-58 decision on Feb. 1, 2023, during head coach Kenny Payne’s first year.
