Davante Adams is eager to contribute to Luke Getsy’s attack.
Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams expressed his excitement upon learning about the hiring of Luke Getsy as the new offensive coordinator in Las Vegas.
Adams, who spent eight seasons in Green Bay, had a significant history with Getsy during seven seasons with the Packers. Getsy served as the wide receivers coach for two seasons and later as the passing game coordinator. Adams is eager to reunite with Getsy in 2024.
“It was a good feeling knowing a guy that I’ve worked with. I know how he works, I know how his mind works, and we’ve had success together. So it’s definitely exciting,” Adams shared with ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez.
According to Adams, Getsy values players’ perspectives and grants them ownership of the offense, fostering a respectful and collaborative environment.
“He’s going to be open to hearing things from the veteran players that know how this thing works and the best way to do things. So a lot of different things, but just the open-mindedness and, like I said, that innovation to the offense and a good run-pass balance. And that’s what I’m used to, that West Coast style. Gonna be fun, getting to work on a new system, something that’s a little bit more familiar for us. Me and the guys,” Adams explained.
Despite speculation about Adams possibly seeking a departure after a disappointing 2023 season, his comments suggest a positive outlook, indicating his readiness to stay with the Raiders and work within a system that is both familiar and promising.
