According to reports, the Celtics are interested in three veterans.
The Boston Celtics, leading the NBA with a 38-12 record, are reportedly looking to bolster their bench with the potential acquisition of three veterans. According to NBC Sports Boston, the Celtics have shown interest in Kelly Olynyk, Andre Drummond, and Delon Wright.
Olynyk, a former Celtic, has remained a productive player known for his two-way capabilities, including effective defense and consistent 3-point shooting. Currently with the Utah Jazz, the 32-year-old is averaging 8.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game while shooting impressively from the field and beyond the arc.
With his versatility to play power forward and center, Olynyk could provide valuable frontcourt depth for the Celtics, addressing a significant need for the team.
Drummond, known for his prowess on the boards, offers a true center presence. Playing for the Chicago Bulls, he is averaging 8.3 rebounds and 7.7 points per game in limited minutes.
Wright, currently with the Washington Wizards, brings decent 3-point shooting and defensive capabilities to the table.
The Celtics’ bench has been a concern, ranking low in bench points per game. Strengthening their bench depth becomes crucial, especially during playoff games when star player Jayson Tatum may need rest.
