Hercy Miller won’t play in any more games this season.
The walk-on guard for the Cardinals had been making an effort to play despite a hip issue.
Hercy Miller, a walk-on reserve point guard for Louisville, will miss the rest of the 2023–24 campaign, the university said on Monday.
In order to treat a hip problem that he has tried to play through, Miller will get surgery in California.
“Hercy and his family decided to proceed with the procedure which will rule him out for the remainder of the season after receiving outside medical consultation,” according to a statement from U of L.
This season, Miller has participated in ten games, starting three of them, and tallying 11 points, three assists, and three rebounds. He joins Dennis Evans and JJ Traynor as the third player whose 2023–24 season was cut short by injury. Add in the dismissal of Koron Davis in December and the departure of Trentyn Flowers in August, and Kenny Payne will be without five players from the squad on August 1st through the last five weeks of the season.
