On Monday, February 5th, 2024, the U21 team of Town exited the Premier League Cup following a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in their last group-stage match at Bloomfields, Needham Market.

Luke Plange scored the sole goal of the game ten minutes into the second half, securing the top position in the group for Crystal Palace. In the simultaneous match, Middlesbrough claimed a 4-0 victory against Birmingham City, securing the second spot and pushing Birmingham City into third place. The top two teams from the group progress to the round of 16.

Gerrard Buabo, the striker who recently made three substitute appearances for the first team, played for the first 45 minutes as part of his ongoing recovery from a hamstring injury.

The U21 lineup included Binns, Jambang, H Barbrook, Mazionis, O’Connor, Turner, Nwabueze (substituted by Oudnie-Morgan at 41′), Carr (substituted by Foyo at 62′), Buabo (substituted by Boatswain at 46′), Roberts, and Ayinde. The substitutes were Cullum and Taylor.
