A former running back for the Steelers is gearing up for a return and expresses the aspiration to play for the Steelers this season.
The running back partnership of Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren has become a formidable duo for the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, a former player is staging a comeback to the NFL, and there are indications that the team may consider his return.
During his five-season tenure with the Steelers, running back Le’Veon Bell established himself as one of the premier players in his position across the league. Over 62 games in Pittsburgh, Bell carried the ball 1,229 times, accumulating 5,336 yards and scoring 35 touchdowns.
However, a contract dispute in 2018 led to a strained relationship between Bell and the Steelers, resulting in him sitting out the season and never donning the Pittsburgh uniform again.
Recently, via his Snapchat account, the former All-Pro running back, Le’Veon Bell, unveiled his plans for an NFL comeback and specified that he would only consider joining one particular team. Expressing confidence in his physical condition, Bell asserted that if the Steelers call, he is ready to make a return this season.
In his post, Bell stated, “I won’t start training until like March. And I’m gonna be honest with myself, I got to go out there and be like, I’m going to put my foot in the ground. Do I feel it? Am I hurting? Can I go out there and really play again? And bro, I’m telling you all right now when I go out there and train in March, and if I hit April and I make this decision to come back to play in the NFL again, mark my words down — I will be better than I ever was. And I will only come back for that one team. You all know who it is. I don’t have to say any team. You all know who it is.”
Bell, who was present at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex during the 2023 season and had a meeting with his former coach, Mike Tomlin, hints at a potential return, possibly fueled by this reunion.
