The Los Angeles Clippers currently hold the third position in the Western Conference standings. Despite their competitive standing, reports suggest that their power forward, P.J. Tucker, is actively seeking a trade.

According to information from Lakers Daily, relayed by ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, there is a notable desire from Tucker to be traded, a sentiment he openly shared last week in Toronto. Youngmisuk noted, “I’m not saying they’re gonna make a massive move, but they did just get Ivica Zubac back against Miami. And so now they have three bigs. And of course, they do have P.J. Tucker who wants to be traded, has made no secret about that. He even told me that just last week in Toronto. I think his words were ‘actively looking to get traded.’”

Tucker has featured in twelve games for the Clippers this season since his inclusion in the blockbuster trade involving James Harden. However, his performance has been modest, averaging 1.2 points and 2.4 rebounds with a shooting percentage of 28.6 percent from the field. In his most recent game against the Denver Nuggets, where he played for six minutes, he contributed with two steals and one assist, although the Clippers ended up losing to the Nuggets.

Having been drafted in the second round as the 35th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Tucker has an extensive career, having played for various teams such as the Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers. He clinched the NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021.

During his tenure with the 76ers, Tucker showcased his defensive prowess with an average of 3.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. His shooting percentages were commendable, with 42.7 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The Boston Celtics, currently leading the Eastern Conference with a strong 38-12 record for the season, are reportedly one of the teams that could see potential value in acquiring Tucker. Given the Celtics’ impressive performance and potential depth issues, Tucker’s addition could strengthen their already robust lineup.
