A very successful 2023 season for the Detroit Lions marked a stride forward in their rebuilding process.

Even though the club blew a 17-point lead at halftime against the 49ers and missed a chance to go farther in the postseason, Dan Campbell’s third season in Motown will go down in history as a success.

Campbell’s decisions have drawn a lot of criticism, particularly for being aggressive in the second half, forgoing field goals, and for continuing to run his offense.

Penei Sewell, a right tackle, expressed his unwavering support for his head coach during the Pro Bowl.

“I really mean it. We simply need to carry out whatever he orders and says. That’s truly our fault. I like that guy.”

With both coordinators expected back in 2024, there is increased optimism that the team will once more be able to go deep into the postseason and perhaps even compete for a Lombardi Trophy.

Sewell said, “It really is family.” The return of those two guys merely serves to reinforce and illustrate that. It’s really happening. We all adore them.
