Senior Bowl Takeaways: Tomlin Takes Over, Two QBs Shine.

Two Quarterbacks Assist
During Senior Bowl week, the quarterback position is an intriguing topic to analyze because various people will interpret plays differently. Based on my observations during practice, I believe Spencer Rattler and Carter Bradley were the two who truly took charge today.

Bradley and Rattler both performed a fantastic job of navigating their progressions, spotting the defense, and taking calculated risks. The most notable feature that stands out is that they don’t fear the present. They’re drilling deep corners with touch and anticipation in scrimmages, or they’re ripping tight seam shots in seven-on-sevens. They’re not trying to be safe.

Although practice does not necessarily predict a player’s future, one cannot not but be inspired by the bravery and arm skill these players have displayed.

Mike Tomlin Shows Interest in Every Role
On Day 1, Tomlin was utterly devoted to the offensive linemen, but he didn’t neglect the other positions. Any one of these guys will tell you that he’s teaching them life lessons in addition to football. All you have to do is ask. The players hold Tomlin in high regard because of his unique presence during the scouting process, which sets him apart from other coaches.

Tomlin decided to give players like Quinyon Mitchell and Roman Wilson a last practice match since he observed that they were having a lot of success. In the end, Wilson managed to grab a one-handed pass that was obviously behind him. The Steelers have expressed interest in Wilson, stating to the public that he has met with them twice.

Is Taliese Fuaga A Defensive Guard?
Although Zack Martin is an amazing talent, the practice of converting collegiate offensive tackles to guards is becoming uncontrollable. There is no need for Taliese Fuaga to be thinking about becoming a guard. Why would you choose to move someone down the interior who is as explosive and well-balanced as he is as a pass setter?

In addition, he plays with an incredible amount of strength and power. He maintains a solid base and anchors down on that rush even when someone comes into his chest and regains that first push. Not that he lacks length as an offensive tackle, either.

Fuaga has solidified his position as one of the top tackles in this next class by dominating some of the finest pass rushers in the area both days. It is utterly absurd to move him to guard.

Michael and Darius Robinson Predominate in the Interior
Darius Robinson has the size and length to play along the inside of the defensive line, but he also possesses the necessary level of agility to be a viable edge rusher at the next level. It’s difficult to predict what position Darius Robinson will be best suited for.

Coaches, scouts, and general managers have taken a keen interest in Robinson after his performance this week. Some even think he forced his way into the round-one discussion. It is evident that Robinson is the only player on the defensive line with the kind of tools Robinson has.

Michael Hall’s strength is in his pass rush, which is what sets him apart from previous Ohio State interior defensive lineman. It’s clear that Hall has a wide range of tools at his disposal because he can set you up with speed to power and then make a move where you take one stride inside and spin outside.

While Hall’s pass-rush skills will definitely attract teams as a pure pass-rushing three-technique, he isn’t nearly the finest run defender on tape. He resembles former Ohio State defensive tackle Dre’Mont Jones of the Seattle Seahawks in many aspects.
