Zay Flowers Screws Ravens On Key Drive.
Zay Flowers just had a really awful drive. With the Baltimore Ravens behind the Kansas City Chiefs 17-7 in the second half, Flowers made two huge blunders that cost his team points.
The first play occurred on a first-and-10 from Baltimore’s 36-yard line with 49 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Lamar Jackson dropped back and hit Flowers with a 54-yard pass to Kansas City’s 10-yard line. After being tackled, Flowers rose up and insulted the Chiefs’ defender, resulting in a flag and a 15-yard penalty. It was a really stupid mistake.
Just so foolish.
Flowers had a 14-yard reception two plays later to cut the Ravens’ deficit to 11 points. It was a pleasant play. Two plays later, Jackson hit Flowers over the middle, and he ran to the end zone. As he dove for the goal, the ball was knocked out of his hands, and he fumbled into the endzone. The Chiefs have recovered.
The fact that he failed to secure that ball cost the Ravens six points. The taunting penalty made scoring much more difficult. Rookies in the NFL make huge blunders, but these were both terrible and inexcusable.
