The Lions’ injury update on OL Frank Ragnow will make your body hurt just reading it.
NFL players are not built like you and me.
Not only are most people absurdly large, but they can also do seemingly superhuman feats.
Take, for example, Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow, who will play in Sunday’s NFC championship game against the San Francisco 49ers despite a seemingly endless line of injuries.
Ragnow was on the field for all 73 offensive plays in the Lions’ 31-23 divisional round win over the Los Angeles Rams.
That was despite walking off the field several times owing to a sprained knee and ankle sustained during the game.
Ragnow’s effort was so daring that Lions fans recognized it by donating to his Rags Remembered Foundation, which strives to “foster a love of the outdoors in children and their families,” with a focus on children and teenagers who have lost a parent.
The three-time Pro Bowler established the charity in remembrance of his father, Jon, who died tragically in 2016.
Lions Center Frank Ragnow Has Every Injury Known To Man.
But with the NFC Championship Game just a few days away, there was no time to recover. Ragnow will not be stopped.
Lions coach Dan Campbell affirmed that his star center would play on Sunday, despite an official injury report that states “ankle/toe/knee/back” as Ragnow’s concerns.
So yeah, he’s basically a walking infirmary.
Almost every NFL player is battling with an ailment or soreness this late in the season.
However, linemen are more likely to be beaten than any other player on the field. And Ragnow appears to be an extreme case of this.
Fans couldn’t help but make fun of the circumstances.
The next time you think about becoming an NFL player, remember Frank Ragnow. You will shortly reconsider that viewpoint.
