What Surprised Celtics Star Jaylen Brown After Crossing Up Luka Doncic.

The Celtics’ Jaylen Brown sending Luka Doncic to the floor with a behind-the-back dribble before hitting a mid-range jumper in Boston’s 119-110 away win on Monday night was a highlight reel play.

However, Brown, who outperformed Doncic on the night by scoring 34 points on 13-for-22 shooting from the field, perceived it as a rather routine play.

Simply being aggressive. “That’s all it was,” Brown told reporters, according to NBC Sports Boston. “It is basketball. Many things happen when you get between the lines. He deserves credit for making an effort to defend. But it was only me being aggressive. You may be on the other side of that at any time. It was simply a good play.

It was a buzzworthy moment for Brown, especially because it came against one of the league’s brightest talents, but the play was made even more memorable by what happened immediately after it.

The Mavericks displayed Brown defeating Doncic on their jumbotron, much to the disappointment of Dallas players. According to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe, Tim Hardaway and Markieff Morris were both upset by the replay being shown to those at American Airlines Center and expressed their displeasure on the floor.

Brown stated that he was unaware that the Mavericks displayed the footage on their video board and was surprised that they did so.

“Here? “No, I didn’t notice that,” Brown replied. “That is crazy. Someone should be fired if they did that.

While some Mavericks players were outraged about what happened with the jumbotron, Doncic didn’t seem disturbed.

“I saw that video,” Doncic told reporters, according to The Athletic’s Jay King. “I can’t lie, that was very pleasant.
