Podcast: Lions Must Play ‘Hair on Fire’ to Defeat 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers pose substantial obstacles to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game.

An early look at one of the biggest games in Lions franchise history shows the opponent constructed in a very similar manner.

During a weekly radio interview with “Stoney and Jansen,” Dan Campbell discussed the 49ers’ challenges, stating that they are a hard-nosed team that plays a physical style on both offence and defence. Campbell also mentioned that the 49ers have a lot of eye candy, such as turbo motions that block tight ends and wide zones, and that Christian McCaffrey is a great quarterback.

“You act defensively, guy. Football draws a large crowd. We have to play while our hair is on fire. We must be relentless. “And everyone has to be around it,” Campbell added. “We’ll have some stuff in to try to neutralise some of this. However, you cannot take away everything that they do. (Kyle) Shanahan, in my opinion, is one of the finest in the league when it comes to game planning and attacking weaknesses. However, population and access to takeaways are the greatest equalisers.
