Wests Tigers sign two promising players for the future.

The Wests Tigers have agreed to sign two young players as they try to develop for the future.

One of these youngsters, 18-year-old Nehemiah Wuatai-Davis, has signed a deal with the Tigers for two years.

Wuatai-Davis, a front-rower from Mackay, has been playing rugby league since the age of seven; he moved to Mackay from Townsville when he was ten years old.

“I’m excited to pursue my dream and train with the Tigers; it’s a huge accomplishment for me,” Nehemiah told the Daily Mercury.

“I was just lost for words, real happy and a bit nervous at the same time.”

Scott Thorburn, his previous coach at the Mackay Magpies, also remarked about him joining with the Wests Tigers.

“He did really well, and he certainly didn’t look out of place,” observed coach Thorburn.

“Despite being a young player in the front row, he never gave up…” The most important thing is to demonstrate that you are built to be a strong, resilient front-rower.”

“His attitude to training and the way he presents himself at training is really important, he’s always well prepared.”

“He can handle the contact, usually front-rowers aren’t maturing until 25 or 26, for a young kid who was only 17, he did really well to show that toughness at that age.”
