Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, may break Tom Brady’s record.

According to CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr, in Sunday’s divisional round victory over the Buffalo Bills, the 28-year-old eclipsed Brady for the most playoff wins by a quarterback before the age of 30, with 13.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, Mahomes will rank third in postseason wins after Brady and Hall of Famer Joe Montana.

Over his first seven seasons, Mahomes has more passing yards (28,424), passing touchdowns (219), and a higher passer rating (103.5) than Brady.

While his career is still in its early stages, the two-time league MVP already appears to be a future Hall of Famer, with the potential to surpass Brady as the best quarterback in history. Even Brady acknowledged that he believes Mahomes is the only player capable of matching or surpassing his greatness.

“I mean, when I look at guys in pro football, Patrick is the one that really stands out,” Brady recently stated on his “Let’s Go!” podcast. “They’ve done a great job since he’s really taken over.”

Brady played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots for 23 seasons, winning seven Super Bowls, which is an NFL record. Playing for that long and winning seven titles will be difficult for Mahomes.

Regardless, he’s on a record pace and is in a strong position to win the Lombardi Trophy for the third time in his career. Kansas City will play the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday in Baltimore. As of Monday, ESPN had the Chiefs as a 3.5-point underdog.

However, don’t be surprised if they pull off an upset because to Mahomes’ outstanding performance. This postseason, he ranks third in passing yards (477) and tied for fourth in passing touchdowns (3). The Chiefs, meanwhile, are attempting to become the first team to repeat
