Where are Notre Dame football coaches recruiting on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023?

Head coach Marcus Freeman: As we mentioned on Wednesday, Freeman is in Las Vegas today. He’ll stop at Bishop Gorman to view top WR prospect Derek Meadows, one of the best in the class of 2025. Notre Dame is a key contender in this recruitment. While at the school, they will gather information on Seuseu Alofaituli, a Top 50 prospect nationally, Douglas Utu, a Top100 prospect, Alai Kalaniuvalu, a Top150 talent, and Landon McComber, a three-star linebacker in the class of 2025. Before returning home, Freeman will visit Brophy Prep in Phoenix, Arizona, to meet with Cree Thomas, a three-star cornerback and Notre Dame commit from the class of 2025. This weekend, ThomasI’ll return the favor by attending Junior Day in South Bend.

Mike Denbrock, the offensive coordinator, will accompany Freeman on his visit to Bishop Gorman and to observe Notre Dame cornerback commit Cree Thomas.

Defensive coordinator Al Golden: While in the DMV, Golden plans to visit Baltimore (MD) City College to check in on Vernon Allen, a three-star receiver in the class of 2025. The 6-3, 185-pounder has offers from several institutions, but not Notre Dame yet.

Marty Biagi, special teams coordinator, will be in the DMV, as will Golden. Biagi is expected at DeMatha Catholic. Class of 2025 three-star running back Bud Coombs is a name to know. Another player to keep an eye on is class of 2026 receiver Lavar Keys, who had a breakout sophomore season.

Gino Guidugli, the quarterbacks coach, will accompany Freeman on his visit to Bishop Gorman to observe Notre Dame cornerback commit Cree Thomas.

Running backs coach Deland McCullough is departing St. Louis for the Kansas City region. DeZephen Walker, a Raymore-Peculiar Top100 four-star running back from Peculiar, Missouri, is a name to remember. He’s one of the top prospects in the 2026 class, and I expect Notre Dame to make an offer soon.

Mike Brown, the receivers coach, will accompany Freeman on his visit to Bishop Gorman to observe Notre Dame cornerback commit Cree Thomas.

Offensive line coach Joe Rudolph: He’ll be in western Pennsylvania today to recruit in the area. Brendan Alexander, a Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley interior offensive lineman in the class of 2026, is a name familiar to the area. Penn State, Boston College, Duke, and more institutions have already extended offers.

Defensive line coach Al Washington will visit Washington (DC) Gonzaga, which is home to top safety Kainoa Winston. Notre Dame would like to make a move with their class of 2025 aim. Devenchi Arnold, a three-star cornerback, is another 2025 target there. He will also visit Friendship Collegiate Academy to meet Bryce Jenkins, a three-star defensive lineman in the class of 2025. Washington will visit Rock Cree Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, to see offered class of 2025 defensive lineman Nahsir Taylor. Another name to remember is class of 2026 offensive lineman Jeremy Davis.

Mike Mickens, the cornerbacks coach, will accompany Freeman on his visit to Bishop Gorman to see Notre Dame cornerback commit Cree Thomas.
