Latest News: As Luton Town’s Loan Goalkeeper Could Switch Clubs….

So far in the January transfer window, we’ve focused on players who have returned early from season-long loan stints.

Our articles the-perils-of-the-loan-system and and-another-returns-to-the-fold have covered Joe Taylor, Aribim Pepple, Elliot Thorpe, and Fred Onyedimna’s return to the fold.

Following that, we wrote on Joe Taylor being given the opportunity to shine at a higher level with Lincoln City – no-time-to-unpack-the-suitcase-for-young-striker – but may another of those on loan be poised for a move?

According to the Sunderland Echo, the Hatters may soon have the option to move John McAtee up a tier, with Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Cardiff City, and Plymouth Argyle all interested in the 24-year-old.

McAtee, who is now on loan at League One club Barnsley, has had an amazing season thus far, scoring 9 goals and giving 3 assists.McAtee, who is now on loan at League One club Barnsley, has had an amazing season thus far, scoring 9 goals and giving 3 assists.

However, the quality of several of his strikes, as well as his overall play, have piqued the interest of EFL Championship clubs.

McAtee, who can play as an attacking midfielder or striker, has an incredible ability to score from outside the box.

After deciding to send Joe Taylor from League Two Colchester to League One Lincoln City, I wouldn’t rule out the Hatters’ leadership doing the same with McAtee.

McAtee, if he continues to develop and impress as he has this season, may be classified as a potential first-team squad member for Luton Town.
