Latest News:Everton have called up a 19-year-old for training ahead of their game against Aston Villa.

Everton’s team is being put through their paces ahead of their Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday (14.00 GMT) at Goodison Park.

The Toffees return to action after a 10-day break after a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. Everton return to the Premier League, where they are just one point and one place above the drop zone after being struck with a 10-point deduction that has been challenged.

Everton now prepares to face Aston Villa, the season’s surprise package who currently sit second in the table. The Blues shared images from their training session at Finch Farm on Thursday. After suffering an ankle injury at Palace, Dwight McNeil was not seen. Manager Sean Dyche was optimistic about the winger’s situation, but the fact that he was stretchered off at Selhurst Park means he may not play against Villa.

Meanwhile, Ashley Young (hamstring) and Dele (hip) were absent. Abdoulaye Doucoure was also missing, despite Sky Sports reporting that he was with the group on Wednesday. Doucoure had missed the previous five games due to a hamstring injury, and Everton had won at that time.

And, with Idrissa Gana Gueye departing for Senegal’s African Cup of Nations, a fresh youngster was spotted with the first team. Isaac Heath was rubbing shoulders with Amadou Onana, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Jordan Picford.

The 19-year-old has been with the club for six years after previously playing for Leeds United. Heath has been a regular for the under-21s this season, thanks to his versatility, as he can play in midfield or on either side. He has made 11 appearances and has two assists.
